My thought is that you have scored yourself a nice BIE die chip. Well done!

Very common on '50s Lincolns.

Nice find! It's nice and very easy to see. Is this your first "BIE"?

A neat collection would be BIEs by date and mintmark - anyone working on it?

Coinfrog, I am working on that actually. I want to get most of the "BIEs" from the 1950's. Also, I have "BIEs" from 1994 and 1995.

Not a bad idea by date and mint mark. I have well over a hundred and it would be a project, but I like the idea.

Glad to hear it - a few years are infamous for them, but I think other years must be pretty scarce.
Rest in Peace

Another nice one. A date set would be tough. A date and mm set would really be a beast.

Moxking, it would be very tough, but it would be awesome if it was a completed date and mintmark set from the 1950's. It's possible, but very tough. It would take a good amount of years and hard work to complete a full set of these.

COC's BIE section would be a good checklist to work off of. There are hundreds listed by date and mint mark.
