"it does appear that they are from Florida just like NNC" If you want proof, do a whois for https://www.nnccoingrading.com and correlate to Centsles' actual name and address. They're the same person. (This is all publicly accessible info).

Interesting, their website ( http://www.centsles.com/about.asp indicates: We use National Numismatic Certification, LLC (NNC), as our primary certification service, and we believe they offer a high degree of expertise in the grading of any and all coins. If you wish to submit your coins to NNC to be graded and authenticated visit their website at https://www.nnccoingrading.com.

Very sad....looks like someone let greed get in the way of being an honest coin dealer. It's too bad many people have fallen for their bs and more will do so too.

Yeah, I'm hardly an expert but the wear isn't *too* bad.
I'd give it a solid AU.
I don't know how in the world anyone would call it XF.
I can't comment on cleaning but just basing my opinion on the wear of the breast/feathers and her hair, looks like AU to me.

It might be lightly cleaned, but not that bad really

I think there is a problem with reflection because I can see the breast feathers with my eye. From what I can see from the top 2 grading companies this is at least a 55 if not a 58. Anyways I'm happy at the price (AU50's going for 230 to 350) and thinking of regrading it with one of the two.
Thanks for the input! Which one?

I'd agree with AU-50 or AU-53 details. There are a lot of small contact marks and it doesn't seem to have any luster. That might indicate it's been stripped of original surface which might cause it to be rejected by the major grading services. If you're willing to gamble, I'd go with PCGS. You'll have to decide whether to crack it out or send it in still in the slab. I think they are more likely to reject the coin if it's in the slab, especially since it's an NNC slab. For comparison, here's my 1884-S. This coin has quite a few contact marks and some hairlines, but it does retain considerable luster around the letters and stars. ANACS called this a no-problem AU-55. Good luck on the cross-over if you decide to go for it!

Quote: No kidding? That is good info to know and I will be sure to stay away from them. Before I knew any better I bought a Walker graded MS-65 in a NNC holder. What a joke, not even close. Live and learn.
