coinguybrian Rest in Peace United States 5375 Posts	Posted 06/04/2008 02:52 am Trying to determine whether I should get this, gold is extremely high but at such a high grade it has a lot of coin value, oh, and it's going for 1400, I'm going to try to get it for 1300, PCGS price guide is trending 2000 for this, so it's a real steal. It's tough to guess how this coin will fare as an investment. MS65 and higher are not affected nearly as much by gold price swings as lower grades. I personally would buy it. MS65 is going for 1600 RedBook for common dates and this was when gold was 650 and ounce, plus I think higher grades have gone up since then too. Report this Post to the Staff
Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6398 Posts	Posted 06/04/2008 5:41 pm Judging from Heritage prices realized in 2008 auctions, $1300 would be a very good price. However, if I were ready to hunt down a PCGS Saint in MS-65 I would try for a different date. The 1908 no motto, 1924, 1927, and 1928 are the most common coins in the series. I would rather search for a 1925, 1926, or 1923-D which are all available in PCGS MS-65. Although they are less common than the other four the prices are generally pretty close. Just my opinion!
