"Determined to get to the bottom of the elusive white spot problem"
The RCM has actively been ignoring this issue for years. It can be considered a positive now that they have finally seemed to address the situation - however they qualify it by saying it is only a "significant reduction" - not elimination of the issue. I wonder given how long they took to address the issue what their definition of "significant" really is. Other mints have not had this issue to nearly the degree of the RCM.
It will be a long time before I invest any more $$$ with the RCM - yes I feel as I have been "burned" so to speak and have since moved on to other collectable bullion coins that never have milk spots and hold or increase in value compared to SML coins. There are many other posts on this forum about how collectors feel the RCM is not doing any favours to the hobby - this may be another.
