Does anyone know why 2018 Canada Bank of Canada "Commemorative" 10 Dollars PCGS 68 OPQ Superb Gem UNC sold for US $236.49 Approximately C $315.39
Another for US $132.50 Approximately C $176.71

- No, I do not understand this (nor many other results I have seen on i-collector/auction network)
- Even if it's the less common CDF prefix (which is estimated to be about a 3M run) the price doesn't make sense. The buyer will have to wait several decades to get his money back (most CDN collectors know that US based TPG tend to grade generously compared to BCS)
- If the note was a 2 digit radar than that would still be well above book (but less surprising) Special Serial #s (radars, millions, low #) were quite hard to attain in the "150" tens due to SN skipping
- There is an American based ebay seller/dealer who regularly sells common notes for 5-10 times book because he pumps up the grade as "top pop" or employs other grandiose claims. I saw a "1867-1967" commemorative $1 listed for 100X book. I personally think its a shame that so many common notes are being dressed up this way as it will eventually turn off the uninitiated to collecting CDN paper.

The commemorative is not really a commemorative but it is the regular new $10 and it has an FTW prefix.

Same seller has another one listed. Yes, it says First Print on the and delivered within 30 days of release on the back of the holder but at this price someone is making money hand over fist.

Oh Lord, another problem with these online auctions is they still manage to fudge up the listing descriptions.....

Got a run of 10 bills today with FFA prefix, already had 2 FTZ and 2 FTW. Guess I need to fined FTY and FFB.
This is from Northern Ontario.

2018-New-$10-Canadian-Bank-Note

Finally got my 10 New $10 from the Laurentien Bank in Laval, Quebec. Had to be persistent but one of the ladies behind the counter decided to have a look in the back and sure enough, she found some. Almost all consecutive, All are prefix FTY.
