Not sure what the proper term for what I found is, but it's a 1990 nickel that has part of the rim really thick and the other side is thin.The word liberty almost hangs over the rim.

Probably a misaligned die, but without a picture, it's hard to know for sure.

Sure looks like a misaligned die. Not really worth anything, but somewhat interesting. Just to be totally sure it's not an off-center strike, can you add a pic of the other side?

I would like to see the other side. It looks like a MAD coin, but from that side view it is not strong enough to make the devices fall over the edge. But the location of the devices maybe the issue. If a coin is off center enough, then the devices become wear on the opposite side. Then I would view it as a collectable.
