Thx @Grapecollects! But that DB LC is a details coin with some corrosion (the black) and scattered pitting. Purchased raw for the VF details knowing the environmental damage.Going to eventually upgrade to a straight grade.

Ok. Started my half and large cents. That draped bust has environmental damage, but it will do for now.
Looking good!

Here's a close up of the DB LC, showing that ugly corrosion. Still not a bad hole filler. It has that crusty, rusty film that covers the surface. Is that a fine layer of rust? Heavy "patina"?

I'm going to get a problem-free DB HC next. I never was an Early American Copper guy, but looking at these is pretty addictive. I guess that's one of the points of a type set.

True. The 7070 took me in directions I never expected earlier.

And a braided hair HC has found a new home. Not perfect, but she'll fit right in.

I hope everyone is doing ok.

Its looking like a great set so far! You've got some higher quality pieces for sure, I always thought it would be fun to do a low ball version of one of these... Keep working!

With remote learning the twins and general covid craziness, I thought I would not have the time to collect, but I just finished my large and Half Cents page.Phew!

I hope everyone is safe and healthy.
