His first post shows one. If I read the third post in the thread correctly, he says " Heres a couple more pics of a few different ones." There he shows pics of two more.
Sounds like three different coins shown.

Conder heres 4 more with the same markings.  Some of these markings are weaker than others but same markings. I do know that these all came from the same die. I'm just still confused on how this happened.  My wife is the one that pointed this out to me while looking through the change. I thought the coins got scratched shipping at first also but then they all had the same pattern. Ill give my wife the honors in naming this error. Edited by Double Mint

Im not gonna name this error shotgun lincoln. Lincoln was an assasinated president and some people might find that name offensive. So lets play a game. Whoever comes up with the best name for this coin error will get a free one in the mail. In one week the winner will be picked. My wife will pick the name she likes best so gl all. Only one reply so far. Let me remind yas in case yalls forgot. The winner will get a free one in the mail. You cant win if you dont play. Again this is just really for fun. This error probably is already in the books but I'm happy that me and my wife found it first. So guys and gals start naming it. You get as many trys as you like also. |

Heres some more closeups and some explanation of the coin. the first picture I highlighted some areas. The 2 arrows are some markings that go behind licncolns head on the stronger errors. It also looks like something smeared from the back of the head to the rim. There is nothing smeared on the coin either its a weird effect the metal gives off with the way it was pressed. The more I look at this coin the weirder the error looks.   |

Ive always wanted to go to Key west. the furthest south Ive been is in Disney land, epcott center, or kennedy space center. Whatever ones the furthest south. I always wanted to check out the Mel Fisher museum and maybe do a little metal detecting on the beaches down there. My Grandfather lived in Ocala in Florida he passed away a little over 2 yrs ago.

Im on the south side of the lake. My Dad (Not grand) passed last year July 25th. He designed the first ground computers for the Space Shuttle. Key punch cards (You know)! If you want to go to key west stay near duck key and then drive further south. Its a lot easyer! (And a lot more fun).
PS My Sis lives in orlando, So if you go back there let me know!
PSS I also lived in Ocala when I was about 14 for about a year. (Leesburg). And if your ever in West Palm Beach, Let me Know!

The way gas prices are it probably wont be a while till I get back down there. Thx though. Thats pretty cool about your dad and sry for your loss.
