Another purple coronation coin in very good condition this week. Certainly hasn't seen a lot of circulation so really happy to find it. Also found a few of the 2024 green and blue rugby coins released through Annaconda and two black Vegemite coins (but they were a bit shabby but still collectable).

Had a really good $2 noodle this week. As well as the planchet flaws and the 10 Kronor coin (see other threads in Variety etc), I found these really nice coins. Other than the green rugby coins I haven't come across many of the others so far. Most of them are in pretty good condition for circulated coins so I am very happy with this lot. Happy hunting everyone.

Quote: a 2022 Commonwealth Games "A" with the roo and emu in the background https://goccf.com/t/318659&whichpage=60#4324911Reading this I didn't know what you were talking about Sally. Despite noodling hundreds of those coins I never noticed the green "splotches" of paint were in the shape of an emu and kangaroo. You learn something new every day

Hi MachinMachinMan and Triggersmob, I never realised that those green blotches were actually supposed to be something until it was pointed out to me either. Now I always check those coins plus others like the 2020 $2 75th anniversary of WWII coins to see if I can find one that has the paint applied in the same way as the illustrations published by the RAM and dealers for such coins. The random application of the paint makes it rare to find a coin where the alignment of the paint matches those illustrations. Just another one of my 'nutty fruitcake' things I like to do. However, I digress... Found these two 2021 $1 mob of roos coins this week. The exciting thing is that according to the RAM's website, only 160,000 were released for circulation (not sure if that includes coins in the "zoom bags" or rolls that went to dealers) so it is rather unusual to find one let alone two in one noodle. The one on the left has been scratched by the rolling machine but it's a keeper anyway.
