I just bought this from a co-worker today for $2 each (2 total). By looking at it I assumed it was broadstruck mint error, but never know and it might be some PMD. So, I need your opinion on this. Otherwise I have lost $4 hehe. Thanks alot guys.

It's the real deal! It's Broadstruck. Man, you got a excellent price for both of these. Congratulations on the very nice error coins! Here's the definition of Broadstrike. Basically, it expands out like a pancake would. Because of having no collar, it spreads out when it's struck. From coinfacts.com.
Quote:
BROADSTRIKES:
A broadstruck error occurs when a coin is struck without the collar to form the rim and edge that is part of the shape of the coin. Coins can be broadstruck on either Type One or Type Two planchets. When a coin is broadstruck the blank being fed into the collar will spread and distort outward as it is being struck because the collar isn't in the correct position to retain it.

You must not like him very much if you only gave him $2 each for these. The reverse image looks like it was doubled struck also. Once in collar and once out of collar.

Way cool. Maybe you should send in one or both to be slabbed?
I don't know what the retail value would be,if it is at least $150 each then it would be worth the slabbing expenses.

LOL! He really thought this was ran over by a car!? That's not the case and it wouldn't look like that if it was ran over. It was pretty obvious that this guy knew nothing about coins, but that's great news for you, because you got an excellent deal on them! Congratulations!

Thanks! Yea, that's what he really think of it. I did inform him that it can can be some kind of mint error and it might be some how valuable. And his respond was "well I'm not into those". Lol. I hope I can get some other weird find from him again in the future that he might think a car ran over it lol.
