I love how that one came out, with the obverse still identifiable.

Quote: I'll have to ask him what the process was for having the die made. This is in regards to the example I posted on the previous page in this thread. Tony told me yesterday that he had a connection for having the die made, and while he doesn't recall just how much it set him back, it was done for him at cost. Incidentally, he lost the election.

Quote: he lost the election. Too bad. However, his name is now in elongated collectors hands and will be remembered none the less. That is a very cool item.

The reason for posting this one is that remarkably the host coin is actually older than Tom Brady! I'll be here all week. Try the salmon.

Hey if you are wondering. I will be getting 2 dies in before the week is over. The process is to come up with a design you want. Usually I have a guy clean lt y for me, then send the images off to an engraver. Blank die rings are like $35 (4 images can fit per ring) $25 per image to design it or clean it up. $125 per image for engraving. So it's not cheap at all.

More French squashed 5c coins - these are from Nimes in Southern France, showing bullfighting and the city's two famous Roman buildings - the amphitheatre and a temple dedicated to the Emperor Augustus, known as the 'Maison Carree' (Square House):

As long as we are waxing nostalic about New England, here is an elongated cent commemorating Boston's Big Dig. Not sure that too many construction zones get their own tourism team.
