Colorized Quarters Remember Them? - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/17/2018 10:46 pm During the 50 States series of quarters back in the day, they came out with some colorized quarters. They looked terrible and non collectors thought they would be a neat thing to collect along with the Avon bottles. But I was working the other day with my PS program and made a colorized proof quarter. Well it was kind of cheezy so I decided to really work harder on one. Well in the past I've made some unique coins with the same program. You might remember them if youve been around around for a few years: Thanks for looking. The first colorized (and in this case I use the term VERY loosely) coin that I remember were quarters from the early 1960's. Some people were painting a red skull cap on quarters. Why? It made Washington look like the Pope. Why do that? Because Kennedy was running for and became President. He was the first Catholic to get elected to that office. Report this Post to the Staff
