I know it's a close shot of it but its the only pic I could get with what I see anyway.... is this some kind of rpm cause I couldn't find it on coppercoins and that usually means I'm wrong.. lol any ideas?

Maybe 1970-S RPM-003? That one seems to have those slanted lines too in the bottom half of the mintmark, but check for the various die markers:

That one looks like a large date. This one is my small date 1970s. Sorry didn't put that in there.

If you look at all the RPMs on that page, you will note the same lines on that area. That is not part of the RPM. That is from a damaged mint mark punch when it was placed on the die. They will show up more or less on all the dies until the mint mark punch is replaced. Not a RPM. Mint mark punch damage.

Thanks coop.it threw me off by seeing what looked like lines and not a "blob" in between the curves of the S.

Coop, is there a list compiled somewhere of all the damaged puncheons? Like this , the 79D and others. I've never run across a concise listing anywhere?

Each year or two it was replaced because of damage to the punch. Some of the earlier punches lasted longer as fewer dies were used. But it would be hard to image each punch as the damage increases with use.
