I don't blame you one bit. Good for you!

It wasn't this way when Meg was running things back in the day when I was selling CDs on the in the mid to late 2000s. I loved ebay back then. Now I hate it, but there's nothing better around yet, so am stuck with it (for now).

Keep your listings at 10 or fewer days.

This is not a scam, nothing new in the auction field. I believe it is referred to as a "Dutch Auction," whereas the price is reduced by a certain amount or percentage until it is sold. Doesn't work to the sellers advantage on items that are of little interest (no bidding population) but it can generate interest where there is moderate interest. The item finds it's own selling price if it is originally listed too high. People have their own pricing thresholds and don't want a "deal' to get away. Don't use it if you feel like your getting ripped off for something that will only sell at a lower price (price market will bear).

I usually close out my 30 day listings at 28 days (I don't do last minute "snipers"), and then re-list them. ebay usually offers me 1 or 2 mass "free listings" a month so I use them to my best advantage.

So, as a follow-up on this, I did an analysis, and it has had a majorly NEGATIVE effect on my sales. Prior to them putting in this "Easy Pricing" thing, I was selling about $500 a month in items, with a couple of months pushing $700. Since then, despite me having just as many items up (and of similar price and quality), my sales have dropped by almost 2/3. Over the past 60 days, my sales are at $333.94.

My guess is that people I'm in competition with have gone ahead and agreed to use the "Easy Pricing" function, and end up selling the items at very low prices (much below even bullion value in some cases)... leaving me out in the cold. As I've mentioned to others, things such as the Coin World Market (https://www.coinworld.market) are becoming much more attractive options to us long-time eBayers.

First of next month (once baseball's regular season is over) I'll have more time to explore other selling option.
