I don't think this resulted from grease or any other issue at the Mint, as is all PMD, do you?

The obverse took the brunt of whatever damage was being inflicted!

The reverse looks normal. Just the areas on the obverse seems to be altered. 10-11:00 areas seems fine. So I'm thinking it was sanded or those area that are affected?
