I bought this coin for a great price and I wanted to confirm it's authenticity. The mintmark is sunk in and there are die polishing marks between the mint mark and "Quarter". What other diagnostics are there?
And what grade would you give this coin?
Thanks for your help!

I have never collected this series, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the "sunk-in" appearance is normal. Perhaps memory fails.

The reason why I mentioned the die polish and sunk in mintmark is because I read somewhere that those are characteristics of authentic 1932 D quarters
Here are better photos of the mintmark

As a fellow collector of Washington quarters, I would very strongly advise against purchasing the 32-D&S raw. It's just not worth the risk since slabbed examples are easy to find. Nevertheless, I would say this appears to be VF-30 Details, Cleaned, unfortunately. It's tough to say from the photos though. I cannot speak to its authenticity. The only way to know for sure is to submit it.
Rest in Peace

I agree. It doesn't cost more for a PCGS or NGC than for a raw key date. The example you show has been cleaned and would not straight grade.

Reading over my post I realize I was a little vague, I picked it up at a local pawn shop for $45, I thought it was a good deal and it didn't raise any red flags for me when looking it over. Well you live and you learn I guess. Hopefully I'll be able to sell it and recoup the money I spent. Thank you very much for your advice and I will keep that in mind for next time!

Looks like you investigated all the reasonable diagnostics and came up with a good coin. No reason to run scared of raw coins if you educate yourself as to what makes it legit. Great pickup.
