This one is about the diameter of a US nickel. On one side, a griffin in a circle, with a crown on top of the circle. On the left side "HESSEN" on the right side "DARM"

On the other side, "*I*" below that "Pfennig" at the bottom edge
"R-F"

This coin has hole drilled through it, about 1 mm in diameter, it looks like it was punched through with something.

ANy ID help appreciated. Oh yeah, there's no date on this one.

From what I can figure from my references, there *should* be a date, below the "PFENNIG", above the R.F (between 1784 & 1797). The obverse should also read "HESSEN" and "DARMST". It would be from the German state of Hesse-Darmstadt, located in SW Germany.

On the other hand it could be notgeld again. Might need photo.

Most German coinage was dated.
