Yep, definitely a Die Clash on the obverse, and a very nice one too! Nice find and congratulations!

No Meow, it isn't, looks like plate splitting due to heat?

Well there where more pictures associated with it. But it was suggested to Meow that the cracks in the penny you see are in the same shape as Lincoln's head.

MeowtheKitty, I'm not sure what that one is. Maybe cracks in the Copper plating from heat as Crazyb0 said?

I remember that post. Someone did an overlay and the cracks line up with Lincoln's hair exaclty. Whether or not it's from a clash or from the metal kind of shearing a bit because of the higher pressure associated with the outline of the bust, or something of that nature.

Yea, no one said for sure what it was. Meow just recently found Meow's very first die clash. That and this post, made Meow think about this coin again.

Meow...you best take Mr. Diamond's word in your original post to heart( cat's do have one don't they... ), for he's one of today's most foremost experts on coin anomalies. If he said(as he did) he didn't know exactly what, leave it at that, all us others are just guessing and most are blowing smoke out their butts. Mike said as some of us noted, the plating is cracked. How and why, NO ONE KNOWS! Leave it there! Sheesh!
