I received the Washington and Adams silver Presidential medals today and compared the pair to the six silver medals that were included in the previous Presidential Coin and Chronicle sets.
Unfortunately, it appears that the U.S. Mint is using the same uncirculated finish for the current medals as it did for the Chronicles sets.
This means when it comes time for the U.S, Mint to offer the Roosevelts, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson silver medals in the new program, the medals will be indistinguishable from the medals contained in the "limited edition" Coin & Chronicles sets.

One can hope for some small distinguishing characteristics, I suppose.

This does not bother me too much for Truman, Ike, Kenendy, and Johnson since the Reverse Proof dollars still make those sets unique. However, the two Roosevelt sets loose out.

They could very easily do this to keep the C&C versions unique. If they did, I would expect the C&C versions to see a price jump when those building a truly complete set realize there are two versions. However, I will not hold my breath that the mint will do anything about it.

Me neither... time will tell.

When the mint inevitably does nothing, I wonder how much that will impact the C&C set values. You know it will.
