Any of you that deal with ebay have likely noticed that a lot of times now when going to a closed listing you are automagically redirected to a "similar" listing and can't see the closed item.

I just spent a few hours here fixing (hopefully) this for links from here.

The listing title in the url now has to be a dash and nordt=true has to be a query string for it to show the closed item every time.

Clear your history since most browsers cache redirects and see if it works for you.

The link in the post will still have the title for SEO purposes, but it should be stripped and replaced with a dash on the landing page.

Bobby, I have definitely noticed this. It drives me crazy! When I click on something, I don't want to see some random coin ebay thinks is similar to the one I clicked on!! Lol. Sometimes I just don't understand there new features.

Yah, drove me nuts too. That's why I invested the time to fix it at least from here.

I have to think their reasoning is that you might bid on or buy the active/similar item they show you. If they show you the closed listing, you're not incented to bid or buy anything.

I don't like it either. I even sent them feedback. But I doubt they'll change it back for the reason I just stated.

Thanks for doing this! It's been really annoying when trying to look up a sold listing. If you ever get redirected to a current listing (when searching outside of CCF), there's a link near the top of the page on the word "listing" that will take you to the original expired listing.
