1988-P-Washington-Quarter-With-Small-Cud

Found this 1988 P Washington quarter in pocket change. There appears to be a small Cud on the Obverse in the upper left hand corner. Is this a Cud or some chip or normal wear?

Where do you see this small Cud?

If you are referring to the left of the L, it looks like damage, gouged.

That's Post Strike Damage unfortunately, since it happened after it left the U.S. Mint. Something dinged you coin, causing damage on the surfaces, near the "L" of "LIBERTY".
