1942 Wheat Penny Mint Mark ?

Hi again I have a 1942 Wheat penny looks like a S stamped between Lincoln and the date I hope the picture is good enough to see one is just plain other I changed the color to show the S more the S is raised it's not flat. Thanks for the continued help with coins.

I see what you are referencing, but it looks to be too large to be from a mintmark punch. If it is raised, then that excludes a dropped letter.

IMO it's from a slightly damaged die.

If it's raised it's from a damaged die, if incused, then a hit.

Is the area incused? If it is, then it's most likely just damage from circulation wear.

The top part is smooth like marker mark the bottom is raised a lil and the mid part on inside bottom seems to be pushed down into the coin some I can't say for sure

if there is any indention into the coin, it is damage. I suspect a hit has pushed metal up and around.
