Please let me know if this is doubling on the eyelid and eye on the 1983 Quarter. Looks puzzling. Or is it MD?

Its Machine Doubling. That area is not flat and shelf like showing one color because the contour that was there is not gone. Same on the lower part of the face. Normal strike, then damaged after strike with MD. On a doubled die, the doubling is on the die, not caused by the strike. But Machine Doubling can happen on doubled dies as well.

The flatness does give it away as Machine Doubling.
