It you looking at the edge of the devices on one side, then it is probably Machine Doubling, not a doubled die. On the motto devices there is an issue with a polished die that make all the devices look thinner. No premium coin here. Keep looking. Just spotted your question. Over polishing thinned the devices. The devices on a die are tapered. Thinner deeper into the die, with at the top of the die. They are designed that way to allow the coins to slip off the die. Now I'm not arguing that this is a double but on some of the double dies for this year coin has that same "extra bar". Does it not apply to this one? Report this Post to the Staff
