Right now, they are taking forever to give me a refund they agreed to. I returned a small part of my first order with them, about $50 worth, and they received it at least a couple of weeks ago. I included the return paperwork they gave me to print out. They aren't replying to my followup messages, either, beyond the automated acknowledgment.
If you have a problem with them, it seems to be better to call than to write. I'll have to call them on Monday.
My second order with them had no problems.

There is a prominent internet dealer I have not dealt with and would love some feedback on. I have not asked on Coincommunity because I assumed it would be a prohibited topic. Can someone tell me whether it is appropriate or inappropriate to ask about a dealer on the forum? Thanks much.

I bought a Block Island 5oz bullion ATB from Provident. It came in a capsule and literally had finger prints on the coin. I had a heck of a time getting a call back from the person in the returns department because she was sick. Then when she came back, she was behind. It seem like if you want to provide good customer service, you'd have someone else process returns if your primary person was out. At any rate, during the return process the lady that I spoke with told me that someone outside their company puts them in capsules for them. I told her that they'll get the fingerprint back with the coin, so they'll know who's to blame. Now that I know they don't control their quality, I won't buy from them again. The replacement that I received had several rub marks on it.

Provident did make good on my problem, but it was necessary to call them, and it took more than one call to get the right person. That had the feel of a small company with only one person handling certain things, which seems odd for a major online dealer.
Their prices are very competitive, and they're the only dealer I've tried that doesn't charge me sales tax, which saves quite a bit.
I've bought junk US silver, silver rounds, and several 1-oz foreign silver coins with no problem. They taught me to avoid cull silver dollars, unless they're priced at melt value, which is very unlikely to happen.

Good. I've bought from Provident before without issue. Lately, I've been buying gold from bullionexchanges.com

I love them, and they have good prices and great deals sometimes. If you buy enough from any one company, I would think that every transaction can't be perfect, IMHO.

Provident is awesome. Quick shipping and great customer service. I've bought from pretty much every major precious metal dealer and provident is my favorite

I bought several times from Provident. They are very good and have good prices. One thing, today I got an email saying they had 1\10 oz gold coins selling a melt price. I couldn't find such a deal on their website. I don't buy gold and if I did, it would not be 1/10 oz because the premiums are too high. But at melt? I would buy that. To be honest, so far I've made several silver purchases at Provident, JM Bullion, BGASC, Bold, APMEX, Golden State Mint, Monarch Precious Metals, Moonlight Mint, and Intaglio Mint and have never had a problem (knock on wood). I've bought buffalo and Liberty nickels, Franklin half dollars, and Peace dollars at APMEX and I would say the grading in my opinion was somewhat generous. That is to say, maybe VG was more like G, XF was more like F, etc. Intaglio mint stopped selling retail, so that was disappointing.
