Wow .... October release 2018 and absolutely no buzz whatsoever. Kind of makes me sad but who knows, RCM may pull something out of the bag for the final release of the year?

Has anybody bought the R&D Security Test 6-Token Set. Is there Tax on this set. I bought from TSC and there was no tax charged. Did they make a mistake?

Has anybody seen the R&D Security Test 6-Token Set? They call it a 6 token set, but from looking at the pictures, it looks like 7. Unless there is a photo of a token, it looks like there is two of the Tri-Metal and 5 others.

I'm sure it will be on The Coin Show tonight, we'll see for sure then.

Thanks to member, who posted it earlier, and now the RCM has the product on the website.

Collector's card with 6 coins

One Special Wrap Roll (only one roll, the picture is misleading)

I do like cards and I like rolls.
But looks like, in parallel to these really overpriced offerings from RCM, there will be no more "face value" pack with new Toonies.

It used to be pack + free card.
In the worst case: with new coins for up to CAD 10.
And now CAD 22 for two new coins and standard other 4?
Overpriced.
Will get probably from ebay toonies only.

The Collector Keepsake Card appears to be an attractive, nicely packaged set with some quick facts on Canada's involvement in WWI. I think it would make a good gift for beginning collectors and non-collectors alike, especially students.

Very true, Commems

But the previous and, IMO, correct RCM way was to introduce only the commemorative coins (unless spoken about coinage milestone). So here, the rest of the 2018 coins are unnecessary.

To make the issue price more attractive, why not to include 1918 Nickel or Large Cent in some average circulation condition (instead of 4 coins)? But this will be too non-standard for RCM....

The RCM never seems to keep me amazed with their short sighted logic, here we have a great theme to honour and commemorate and they tie up a quarter of the non colour mintage in special rolls access to normal public will be difficult to say the least. Even the Lucky loonies and such coins had a 5 million mintage and access for all, this is a nice looking design, but 3 million total seems like the only way to get rolls are again special access to the security delivery services, or purchase the special labeled rolls.

This exactly was my thought.

I'll tell you, what could be the 'hidden trick' of the roll:
I am not sure, that the coloured Toonie or even reverse of the Toonie will be shown.

News from the other resource - the Toonies (coloured, non-coloured) will be available at the banks.
I do not know, what will be the price, but probably, no need to buy them from ebay right now.

Per the RCM press release: "Limited to a mintage of three million coins (two million selectively coloured and one million unpainted)."
