(Mentally adds ExoGuy & AcesKings to the lists of coin collections I'd like to see in person someday!!! Amazing!)

@NumisRob - no shame in a holed coin! I'd rather have a filled hole with a "holey" coin than an empty hole with no coin.

1898 IHC - VF20-ish, reverse is a bit dinged up.

Here's a counterstamped 1899 cent. The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was located in Little Valley, western NY, in Seneca Indian territory. The counterstamp matches that on a knife that I have, pictured below. Here are my database notes ...

THE COMPANY WAS FOUNDED IN 1882 BY B.F. CHAMPLIN. IT MADE POCKET KNIVES AND CUTLERY. THE LETTERS IN THIS LOGO ARE VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL TO THOSE OF THE CASE KNIFE CO., ALSO OF LITTLE VALLEY, WHICH OPERATED FROM 1886-1963. CHAMPLIN'S WIFE WAS A SISTER TO THE CASE BROS. IN 2010, ONE OF THESE CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY COUNTERSTAMPS ON AN 1891 NICKEL SOLD FOR $750! THEY HAVE CROSS-COLLECTOR APPEAL FOR KNIFE COLLECTORS, IT SEEMS. THAT SAID, THE TOP BIDDER WAS A CHAMPLIN ANCESTOR, KNOWN TO ME.

Here's a counterstamped 1900 cent, EAGLE LOCK Co. / TERRYVILLE, CONN. / U.S.A. Interestingly, this logo stamp matched that on a key to a huge safe I once owned. The safe came with a house I purchased. I later learned that a coin collector had owned the house, twenty years prior. He added a "coin room" to the basement; one that I used likewise!

Brunk cataloged but four coins, bearing this counterstamp (# E-20). The latest dated one is 1903. There may well be more out there. A number of safe and lock makers stamped coins with their marks.
