Hmmm, I waited 2 years ago when I participated, and it made it more fun. That said, I opened mine the minute I got it this year. :)

Thanks Santa, I received two beautiful proof sets, 1961 and 1964. Lucky for me I need both of these for my proof set collection. Thanks again and everyone have a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

Thanks Canadian Santa! I must have been good, I got a 1939 Canadian silver dollar in AU/MS condition. Based on some Googling I now know that it was issued to commemorate King George VI's visit to Canada. On the obverse is the King and on the reverse the Parliament Building in Ottawa. Also Canadian Santa sent me a 1923 .25 cents fractional currency note which is great and is a nice addition to my early 20th century currency collection. Thanks again Santa!

Checking in. Got a bunch of British pennies, foreign coins, and a royal wedding coin. I haven't had the chance to send mine out yet (sorry, receiver) but will be doing so tomorrow.

Quote:The '98 could be a WAM! Or if it's a proof, it could be a Close AM. (That's unlikely, though ) Nice gifts being posted! What's that Prince Harry Wedding Commem all about, @nautilator? It looks quite nice. I always liked Harry better, anyway.

Santa finally picked up my gift yesterday and is on his way to New York. He told me he thought he could get it delivered by end of day Monday. I'm hoping so!
Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a tremendous 2019.

My gift (at least I assume it is my Secret Santa gift, it has no return address and looks very intriguing) arrived yesterday but I will hold off till the 25th to open and share at that time. Who ever you are out there, thank you in advance and Merry Christmas to you.

All right, i'll be gone until the new year, so I'll report back about my gift at that point. Here's hoping in the meantime that my gift to the great white north is delivered.

I was going too wait until Christmas to open, but my secret Santa was getting concerned about it's arrival as rggoodie sent me a sweet note this morning to check on it. So I opened it early and WOW! Was I a good girl this year. Thank you so much for this beautiful 1923 Peace dollar. As a collector of US coins I always like to see some fun facts about what was happening that year. So, as the mint employees were busy minting this third year iconic coin design in 1923.... President Warren G. Harding became ill as was returning on July 28th from a trip to Alaska and is rushed to San Francisco, where he dies on Aug. 2. The whooping cough vaccine was developed. Rin Tin Tin became the films very first canine star. Harlem's Cotton Club opened presenting all-black performances to white-only audiences. Roy and Walt Disney founded the Walt Disney Company. NY Yankees defeated the NY Giants in the World Series. How many Peace dollars does it take to pay for.... A new 2 passenger car costs $570, A country house with 2 barns costs $20,000, A dinner in an upscale restaurant costs $2.50, A new refrigerator costs $49. So without further ado.... Thank you so VERY much Santa! I LOVE it! xoxo, Debra

Great to see Secret Santa keeps on going this year too! I missed it - very busy with work and other things, but still I'm checking this thread to see how lovely everything is so far!
