a special Thank you to coinworldtv.
His assignment was to sent his gift not to a member of the forum but to a hospital I am associated with. The package arrived and the nurse from family services was so excited. She has groups of children come in a choose a coin and then she uses some of the reference material the hospital has to identify and learn about the coins. The children get prizes for finding information.
The coins will continue to be used for different children on different days..
Just a few lovely coins made a lot of children happy and helps them to spend the time productively
Thanks again coinworldtv-
PS not sure is I can get her to up load pictures of the coins for me but this note should warm all of your hearts.

That's a nice assortment, Wade! Surprisingly, a U.S. $2 bill is still on my list of wants/needs.

Just checked my mail after getting back from vacation, and my secret santa gift arrived while I was gone! Thank you very much to who ever sent it, I'll have to do some research about the Bahama cent.

twenty four pennies! two indian heads, and the rest Lincolns to put into my collections (books) 1888, 1898, 1910, 1911, 1918, 1954, 1958*, 1971*, 1972S*, 1973* 1974s*, 1976*, 1983*, 1988*, 1991*, 1995*, 1997*, 2007*, 2014*, 2016*, 2016D* AND '09 professional & '09D birthplace + formative years. (* = mint luster coins) I would have been stoked to just have the two indian heads, or a couple of the really old Lincolns - for someone who loves pennies as much as me, this was as stellar gift!! BUT!! I also received six various German 'pfennig' coins to add to my little collection - THANKS! AND I received a "set" of 1954(Philadelphia) dime, quarter, and fifty cent pieces! and, if I wasn't already feeling spoiled, I received a non-circulation silver issue of the bi-centennial quarter!! Thanks to my santa!

As promised: Two historic coins from Great Britain. Wonder who has bought what with these. The first one is a 1825 halfcrown. It fills a hole in my collection and now sits right next to my 1826 holed specimen.

1797 penny
The first copper penny to be circulated in Britain, the cartwheel penny was designed to combat counterfeiting. Designed to weigh its exact value in copper, (one ounce), the 1797 penny was very large.
