It is 3.0 grams and is light tan. Not gold like we did in school. Anyone know? Pics are not the best.... Sorry, cheap camera

It's has been plated. Check to see if it's slightly attracted to a magnet. If it is, then it could have been nickel plated.

Okay since it's not attracted to a magnet, it would rule out being Nickel plating. It didn't happen at the U.S. Mint, so it's Post Strike Damage ( PSD).
