coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/28/2018 12:12 pm The area on TRUST that you are looking at near the rim and above the devices is die wear. Die wear appears towards the rim from the edge of the close part of the devices: Note on the images above, the die wear starts showing as a rounding the sharp edge of the devices closest to the rim and then the wear starts being seen as device distortion. That is what the die was starting to do with the coin you have is showing at that part of the dies life. It get worse until the die is retired. This is normal for coins to show this. On a doubled die, the first coins show the same doubling until the die is retired. Report this Post to the Staff
