I sometimes wonder if weak policy makers simply get lobbied into signing bad legislation by special interest groups.
This kind of makes the silver/gold stacking community not look so crazy anymore ...

This kind of makes the silver/gold stacking community not look so crazy anymore ... You can be sure that the so-called "special interest groups" are the only ones that benefit from the changes they implement.

Quote: "non-manufactured precious metals" If that is the description of the banned product, then coins are ok to be shipped because coins are definitely human made (manufactured).

It clearly states coins and stamps of all things, there has to be a logical work around or so many large players would lose their business model, like ebay they had a booth at last years FUN show promoting their coin section

I spoke to a legal representative for Canada Post after a long long run-around. She cited Article 24 of the United Nations Treaty #8847 as the reason why Canada Post has banned bullion and coins from entering the mailing system. She also mentioned liabilities surrounding money laundering, securities fraud and FINTRAC legalities that other countries may not adhere to. I left with more questions than answers. That United Nations Treaty is from 1967. Second of all, what does FINTRAC have to do with buying coins on ebay. Third off, securities fraud? Coins are now a security. What a pile of nonsense. I asked why RCM can ship through Canada Post and she said that they have entered into an exclusive agreement with CP and that they provide their own securities reporting and insurance. HAHA. The World has gone mad.

I really don't like this I used to buy a lot from APMEX and it looks like that is done . With making $1000 bills non-currency and passing a bill allowing banks to take customers deposits and turning them into shares if they get into trouble makes one wonder if we should be starting to dig holes in the back yard.

Some people still aren't aware that the money they deposit into banks is no longer theirs. Depositors immediately become creditors and will be last in line when banks fail. Filling backyard holes with real money (gold and silver) that the banking cartel can't touch is a good idea.

Exactly! Most people think they are 'depositing' money, but really they are loaning the bank money ... and the bank is charging them to do it!
Anyway, I've started making weekly purchases at my local LCS with cash now that the government has decided to take an active role in monitoring and preventing silver/gold purchases.

It seems we're acquiescing our sovereignty to a world body controlled by great states such as Venezuela Iran etc. I'm sure they meant well but here we are.
