Just a lamination issue on your nickel. The silver nickels did this often on these. But they are still a silver coin, worth way more than face value. There maybe someone collecting these trying to get an lamination issue on a full set? So keep it safe.

A split planchet can happen, but they usually split thought the center of the coin.
