i was heading for home last night, nearing the end of the route, a little salty about finding very little change-- I think I had just forty-four cents in my pocket-- when I discovered that someone had left me three quarters and a nickel at an air machine:  quality save. I ended up with $1.29. |

A weekend up north with my parents means I've now found money in four states this year: Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, and Michigan. Always cool when my change/found money jar is such a melting pot of stuff from different states, though the most interesting finds from the weekend were just road-rashed zincolns.
I dumped my coin jar on Friday afternoon and ended up with $117.14 (!) - a mix of coins accumulated since late May and extra quarters squirreled away since February building up a hoard of laundry tokens I no longer need.
Got back to town today and found just over a dollar, no notable finds but a little extra spending money is always a good thing. I live vicariously through all of you guys' finds - and Mr. Pink, you're exactly right that $75 earned is better than $1 found! (What about finding coins on the job though? I've done that. Two streams of revenue coming together simultaneously!)

I found a quarter on the sidewalk in front of the stand. it's possible I may spot more in the future. dana told me she once found a folded benjamin on the sidewalk. more will come. |

i was standing with my bike in a parking lot in front of the dollar store stuffing two zincolns into my pocket & doing the math in my head when I spotted what looked like a wadded-up dollar bill, so I walked over to it:  i had to put my glasses on because it looked like it might be more than just one:  sure enough:  it was two! $1.94 in well-scattered change and two wild bucks- $3.94 on the night, best night since june 17, which was also a two-buck night, coincidentally.  |
