another bonus today, though: I scored a wine cooler-type of mini-fridge, I really don't know what it's technical name is.. not important; I scored it, but I'm not keeping it. it still works, just needs a bit of cleaning & care. i'll make it look presentable and sell it and i'll apply those dollars to my growing gifted money pile and eventually turn that into gold
Fantastic!

It looks like it is in decent shape. I wonder why it was tossed? Probably got a bigger one.

they replaced the old unit with a new one. I've scored a lot of stuff from the sale of that house & property over the past year.

You might want to keep it, MrPink - fill it with refreshments and have it by your Weber grill. Spring is coming, so they say.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

i can't keep the fridge for myself. I can have the grill because I'm certain that the grill won't be messed with. I can't say the same for a fridge or cooler. my living situation isn't ideal. it's another involved story.

well that doesn't sound all that good..

correct. it's not all that good, but it is still shelter. I thank whatever muses are keeping it from devolving into a worse situation, because I realize it could be much worse. I had to face the fact that this is as good as it's gonna get (resisting the urge to air out my dirty laundry).

in a nutshell, let's just say that there is a troll living down below my place and that there are certain things i'd be well-advised to not do. I've had to discover this through trial and error over time. the troll has seen to it that it's own wants and needs come before mine and the troll does not recognize boundaries.

it's sufficient to say that I can't keep the fridge. I am not bothered by it because the alternative-- selling it and turning the gains into gold-- is a far better option than my keeping it as part of a potential outdoor kitchen arrangement. the gold option is fine with me. it's a gilded consolation prize.

there hasn't been much to report the last several nights, so tonight's finds were pretty great.

i scored my first dollar bill of the month en route to a $2.42 night, $1.42 of it was well-scattered change, including 5 quarters: 2 from a drive-up window area, 2 from a water machine coin return and 1 from a parking space at a laundromat.

the dollar bill was an interesting first. I rolled up to a pair of soda machines and stopped in front of them, preparing to check the coin returns when I saw it:

finding a dollar bill sticking out of the dollar bill acceptor is a first. amazing that no one saw it before me. I wonder how long it had been sticking out like that. it's also the first dollar bill of the month.
