it actually warmed up slightly as the day faded into night, from 61* up to 65* when I headed out just after 11pm. saturday will warm into the low 70s, as will sunday, but we're getting a second cold blast sunday night. regardless, it's perfect weather for me to be painting. I have to paint saturday and probably sunday... finish work on a newly-constructed bedroom & bathroom. caulking, touch-ups, etc. because of that I cut the night short, didn't stay out late searching for coin & currency litter, but I still picked $1.75, all quarters, not scattered... I found 1 quarter in a parking lot as I was riding through, the other six were from an ice machine coin return.

those quarters topped-off a roll. cycle 20 is now up to $28. I've scored more than $10 this week so far.

holy cow, we're up to 200 pages on this thread.

if gold and silver prices continue racing skyward I may have to start utilizing the accumulated street finds to add needed things to my 7070.

That is what I'm doing - giving up on Mint Silver products, and changed course to fill up my Dansco 7070 album.

doing the math, if I average a dollar a day each month, that's $30 a month. it'll take 3 months to accumulate most of the current cost of an ounce of silver. add another month to cover it, presuming silver doesn't rise any farther than it is now, but with silver jetting skyward, it's going to be at least another 4 months of pickin' to scrape up enough dollars for an ounce of bullion, barring any substantial FRN finds. who knows where silver will be by the end of april. so I might switch from saving up for more bullion to saving up for stuff to add to my type album. i'll feel like a collector again.

...but in the meantime I carry on.

it's time for the dancing banana! late afternoon sunday the incoming cold front's big grey cloudline & high N/NW winds & cooler temps blasted through the keys. my priority (after the cats...) tonight was the wind tunnel. I saw nothing on my first pass, but my second pass produced what I failed to see the first time. as I walked my bike along the red-painted curb I spotted a wild buck dancing in the wind. I stopped to watch it. it swirled around me twice with a lot of leaves & debris. I had to step/stomp on it when it hit the asphalt:

first FRN of 2026!

i retrieved that wild buck and rolled away with $1.37 in my pocket. at the searstown publix I scored a bag of Florida juicing oranges that someone left behind:

Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

i can squeeze a glass of oj tomorrow when I make my breakfast omelette.

an ice machine, a water machine and a soda machine each yielded one quarter tonight. I think that's a first: a hit on three machines on one night.

i ended up picking $2.56 tonight, plus oranges. seventh straight night of $1+, which hasn't happened in a very long time. $14.18 over 7 nights, that averages better than $2/night. 12 of 18 nights this month have been $1+. an excellent night despite the not-very-tropical weather.
