Cool to see old wheats and Indians still in circulation!
I had my biggest haul of the semester to date yesterday: $3.77! I was at just 7 cents so far on the day around 3:15 PM when I was walking past a row of vending machines right as someone else had bought a soda and was taking her change. She took the quarters, but the machine had run out of quarters so the rest was nickels and dimes, which she just left behind. I asked her "you sure you don't want these?", she said she didn't, so I scored $1.45 out of that. The other jackpot was $1.75 in quarters left behind at a different vending machine - you'd think you'd notice if you were missing such a large chunk of cash, but hey, that's how I get to profit off other people's negligence. :D
Grand total for the day: 7 pennies, 16 nickels (a record), 9 dimes, and 8 quarters.
Today, I'm only up 10 cents: a dime in a vending machine. It's also not even 8 AM though, so I've still got the whole day ahead of me.

tonight I scored $3.68 in well-scattered change-- 1 quarter, 19 dimes, 5 nickels and 28 zincolns, plus a 1979 SBA $1 that some kind soul left at an air-vac for me, the first interesting coin I've found this month.

I can't compete with Mr Pink, but in the past couple of days I have found (on the sidewalk) a 'roadkill' 5p coin and, more unusually, a 2015 Polish Zloty!

Quote: I can't compete with Mr Pink i say that to the cat all the time! i live in a very strange place. I've never lived anywhere else (that I'm aware of) where ppl just throw away so much money (and in this economy!!).. it's incredible.. my closest acquaintances are amazed at what I find every night.. and now- as a result of 5+ years of pickin coins off the streets- I have a tidy little stack, and the ppl who laughed at me are still chained to their jobs and have zero savings.. I encourage everyone to just be watchful, there is very likely all kinds of money & coins all over, just waiting to be found.. I estimate that I have found (roughly) $2400-$2500 since early 2018, I began my nightly hunt at about the same time I joined ccf (and I'm glad to still be here!).. cool finds, NumisRob, there's probably much more out there somewhere.. i'd love to find some Polish coins..

friends, this is what I scratched up tonight... $1.87 i picked about a dollar of it from inside of an air-vac dirt canister (and it all got a bath upon returning home.. each night I empty my pocket & I wash all the coins I bring home), to include the lone quarter.. I suggest examining that quarter: the american samoa 2020-W! cool find! that's the second W quarter I've picked from inside an air-vac dirt canister, my 6th or 7th W quarter in total (i forget exactly how many, i'd have to go look thru the W quarter thread), and the first V75 quarter I've found/salvaged... lo, the well-circulated bats, LOL! edit 37 minutes later: after consulting the W quarter thread I see this is my 7th W quarter score.
