last night I found $1.24 in well-scattered change, and I also found a 2015 twenty-five cents from the bahamas & a 1978 canadian cent the fields on that bahamas coin are very proof-like..

I have a serious contender for Score of the Year tonight I had found a bit over a dollar in well-scattered change by the time I was arriving at the winn-dixie plaza at just after 3am.. despite the late hour there was enough general activity in front of the store-- ppl coming or going & cars buzzing around-- to ward me off from riding thru the front rows of parking looking for coins, so I opted to ride across the parking lot & start looking elsewhere while giving those cars & ppl time to disperse.. I didn't get far; I turned a bit to my right to ride off into the middle of the huge, mostly empty parking lot and I almost immediately spied a wad of cash lying in a parking space but against the curb, and I could easily see it was numerous bills wrapped with a twenty.. abrupt stop, leap off bike to nab wad, stuff into pocket & blast off, within several seconds.. I did not think to pause for a picture, lol... ... since I had just nabbed a bunch of cash I called it a night right then as I sped away for home.. once I returned home & dealt with the cat I counted it up: exactly sixty bucks.. two twenties, a ten & ten ones... plus I had picked $1.16 in coins, so $61.16 on the night... .. that is the most cash I have ever found in one groundscore..

friends, last night I scored $1.55 in well-scattered change, picked up a 1949-D LWC somewhere always cool to find those.. that coin gets added to the growing pile of interesting coins I've picked from the pavement (or from inside an air-vac) so far this year minutiae: in Q1 I scored $180.87, basically $60.29 per month jan-feb-mar... or about $2.01 each night, which is well-above the average.. this year is off to an unexplainably huge start, and now april has ended with my having found $114.94 (another first; i'd never scored more than $100 in a single month), mostly due to that sixty bucks I found a week & a half ago.. there's money lying around everywhere, just have to watch for it..

Quote: impressive! well, I guess as long as I keep going out looking for it I will continue to find it. as long as ppl continue to throw it away, it'll just keep piling up in my corner & i'll turn it into something. we'll see how the rest of the year pans out. changes are upon my gig. I am being challenged. speaking of challenges, it's time to play What's Missing?. two pictures below. what's missing from within the images? in each photo below, something big was sitting there in each image. (i carry on with the answer below.) answer: the air-vacs I examined every night are gone. when I rolled into the parking lot behind the gas station where the air-vacs are, I discovered the air-vacs were no longer there, lol... they are likely going to be replaced with new machines, which will most likely be locked. so probably no more pickin there for me. a tragic loss, but easy come, easy go. nice while it lasted, about a year. I scored both of the W quarters in that pic from inside those air-vacs, the 2020 very recently, and a couple of the Presidential dollars, too. in all that time I found only 1 dollar bill inside one of the air-vacs... but most impressively I salvaged a lot of change from those things over the course of a year. another loss of a small, but impactful, part of my route. very similar to when both sears and Kmart closed. in each case I lost a huge parking lot and soda machines. I may have to expand the operation to other areas. it requires more thought. I'm still going out each night to find a dollar, after I feed the cats. I'm undaunted, I got by for 4 years without the air-vacs and there is still no shortage of fools & their money...

...so I went out tonight and found my dollar (and sixty-five well-scattered cents), another buck captured in the wild: minutiae: cycle 16 began april 21, currently at $55.95.. fourth straight night of $1+, I've found about $6.42 over those four nights.. the coin bug usually starts biting when the total passes the $100-mark...
