@Hondo-
most of the damaged coins that I find are roadkill, but that one you found looks more like it had been rubbed/worn to death... I refrain from posting too much roadkill (it's depressing), but I typically find several roadkill coins every night.. my rule on turning in damaged coins: if it fits into a tube & shakes out of it without any resistance, it goes into a coin roll. if it gets stuck in the tube, it doesn't get wrapped & gets discarded.
keep on watching out for money, it's everywhere..
@Spence-
nice pick! you got to it before the traffic! quality save! I still enjoy finding old jeffies...
i haven't picked anything cool in several days, but I'm still finding & saving and the pile keeps growing.. since april 21 I've managed to accumulate $108.39..

Mr. Pink, I did a double-take on that zincoln as it was tails-side-up and I thought it was the end of a roll of Life Savers! It was in a very smooth asphalt parking lot, and must have lived there for a while. Tips the scales at 1.77 g. I think I'll keep it just for fun.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

you know, Life Savers is what I thought when I looked at that pic! LOL i'd hang on to it, too... it's carries a story now and is an educational piece, as well.. i found $2.20 in well-scattered change last night, the best single score of the night was this tidy pile of ninety-two cents someone was kind enough to leave for me in the middle of the publix parking lot, I am grateful it wasn't scattered everywhere, so much easier to collect a neat little pile than walking around a large area picking up coins that have been flung..

last night I scored my first buck in the wild in several weeks, it was hiding under some bushes not long after that I picked several coins from a parking space in front of a shopping plaza, thirty-nine cents $1.68 on the night, plus I scored a gallon of 2% milk, believe it or not, at 2:30am... someone left a full, unopened, undamaged gallon of publix 2% milk outside the Kmart plaza publix last night... hard to say when it was left there, but my guess is within the last hour of operation last night, 9-10pm.. hard to believe no one nabbed it, considering where it was sitting.. the 'best-by' date read july 7, so I stuffed it into my back pack & lugged that gallon home, stuck it into the fridge when I got there.. later tonight i'll give it the smell & taste test, hopefully it did not spoil; gallons of milk are not cheap anymore, it'd be a shame to have to dump it... if it passes smell & taste test, that score was as good as finding five or six bucks...

I found two one-dollar bills on the pavement after I parked my car on my way into a local supermarket last Friday morning.

we had rain yesterday morning & afternoon, but despite all the standing water I was able to pick $1.06 in well-scattered change last night, among it another 1957-D jeffie; I also found a '57-D jeffie on may 19th..

I'm still a couple hours away from having my night and I've already scored $1.21. I walked out of my landlord's place this afternoon to head back to my yard chores when I walked up to this in the street: see all the cruddy & corroded coins? looked to me to be a bunch of coins someone shoved out of their car or truck. good score, about a dollar's-worth, I estimated. so I scooped them up & pocketed them. i'll clean them later, and they'll all get rolled up and entered back into circulation. maybe a little at a time. i counted them when I returned home this evening: 101 cents, and 2 dimes. i am now $5.11 away from a milestone. stay tuned.

MrPink2018, wahoo! Nice score! I would be absolutely thrilled, if I found that much change, on the ground.
Errers and Varietys.
