the pouch of benjamins I keep asking for hasn't materialized yet, I notice. I must not be looking in the right place.

Quote: the pouch of benjamins I keep asking for hasn't materialized yet Mr. Pink, I used to do a lot of work on beaches (think "biological surveys of many miles"). My fantasy was to find a duffel bag of Benjamins tossed overboard during a smuggler bust. Never happened, of course. But hey, your stash is still growing!

Quote: Nice finds MrPink2018. yes, E&V! I did nearly the same tonight, picking $1.60 in well-scattered change, despite all the standing water... rain water and sea water (king tides). tonight's pickins brought the 30-week running total up to $280.71. I'm still standing by my prediction of $287.55 by thanksgiving. Quote: I used to do a lot of work on beaches (think "biological surveys of many miles"). that sounds very interesting, Hondo. But hey, your stash is still growing! every now & then we'll see in the news that someone somewhere in the Keys fishes an errant bundle of something from the ocean, typically a parcel of either white powdery or green leafy. honestly, i'd get more of a buzz from a duffel of Benjamins. indeed, the stash is going to see some new additions very soon. 8 days to go.

i picked this off the pavement somewhere tonight.. how neat it is to still be able to find a very decent copper '74-D LMC.. nearly 50 and still lookin' great: ..i find a lot of roadrashed/roadkill/junker coins, I gather at least several every night, so I'm amazed & grateful that coin looks as good as it does.. glad it didn't get destroyed before I got to it..

the black friday update: cycle 15 ended at $285.25 ($2.30 short of my prediction). the conversion of base metal & paper to PMs has been initiated. every cent & dollar went into the cauldron. double, double my golden bubble, aurum rise without a shovel, grow my stash from trash and rubble, double, double my golden bubble. cycle 16 begins tonight.

me too, Hondo! I was telling helder (hfjacinto) a few days ago how gratifying it is.. from my email to him: Quote: it is so gratifying to save save save and aim for a goal over time with the savings than it is to have vast sums of $$ at my disposal so I can just run out and buy stuff on a whim. all of the pedaling around night after night.. the danger, freaks, bums, bad weather, police interference, etc etc.. i basically scratched up $9.19/week for 31 weeks and traded it for something more valuable. riding my bike around for two hours a night isn't particularly taxing, but it is challenging, due to the many aforementioned hazards. i didn't find much last night & figured I probably wouldn't. not a lot of commerce going on during thanksgiving, therefore not much coin on the pavements. but the night before I picked $1.15 in well-scattered change, plus a bottle of water. bonus: all my street kitties got some turkey last night! and they'll get more tonight, I've hardly made a dent in all the leftover turkey scraps.

tonight I picked $1.43 in well-scattered change, plus 7 bottles of water: anytime I see the plastic wrap from a case of bottled water sitting up on end like that it means there likely are bottles still in the wrap. in this instance I was riding thru publix' parking lot and spied this one near a trash can. someone probably loaded a cooler in the parking lot earlier on friday & left behind whatever wouldn't fit. nice score! glad I had my bike with a basket, I didn't have to schlep all of that on my back. a fine start to the new cycle.

My best find in a few months! Even though I find nowhere as much as MrPink, it adds up, this is over the last months, just for walking the dog. I finished the Nickels and Dimes today. I'll deposit this tomorrow to my coin fund.
