The going rate on a 2 euro coin is $2.19, you did very well finding one.

MrPink - Congratulations on getting a commemorative German 2-euro coin!

I am currently in South Africa and am picking up lots of 10-cent coins. These are worth about three-quarters of a US cent, and lots of people seem to throw them away rather than put them in their pocket or purse when they get one in change...

I think their highest denomination coin is the 5 rand, which is worth about 27 cents.

i had never seen one before (a €2 coin) and had to look it up. indeed, a circulating commemorative. how cool.

the throwing away of money seems to be widespread..i'd be pickin' 'em up, too. good on you, NumisRob.

last night I picked $1.86 in well-scattered change. I am ten cents away from $7 on the week, rolling along at the dollar-a-day average.

yep, the free money train rolls along..

last night I scored exactly $1.00 in well-scattered change. heading home I had just $0.73 in my pocket and had that fleeting thought that $0.73 was going to be it for the night, but I have that 'never-say-die' fire in my belly and since my very last stop before home was coming up I knew there was still a chance I could find more; I had to stop at the nearby convenience store for a gallon of milk. I sometimes find coins there. I could reach the dollar mark yet.

patience pays. there was a quarter on the cement in front of the door into the store. sweet. I was suddenly up to $0.98, needing a pair of zincolns.

i left the store with gallon of milk in hand and found a zincoln in the parking lot...$0.99... walked across the street to the laundromat and found another zincoln in that parking lot. "yay! $1.00! done! going home!" I thought... so, I end up with $7.90 on the week, a bit better than $1/day.

never say die.

Congratulations on six years, Mr. Pink! I'm coming up on four myself.

Finds have been slow here lately, just got back from the holidays on Saturday and most of the other students aren't back on campus yet because classes don't start until the 23rd - but every little bit counts, including the 53 cents I already found at McDonald's this morning (three zincolns, a nickel, two dimes, and a laundry token - just one year older and it would have been silver).

The other day, I found a bag of Reese's mini peanut butter cups - opened but the cups are individually wrapped so I figured it was safe. There were 11 left in the package, and I know because I ate them all.
