BH1964, no doubt you've racked up some good karma there. well done. a 10% reward is mighty nice, too. thank you for sharing that story, I hope it serves as inspirational. i rolled into the winn-dixie plaza parking area last night with just thirty-eight cents in my pocket and almost immediately found:   i rolled right up to a dollar and a zincoln, the latter being very near my kickstand on the asphalt. see the copper-plated speck? two consecutive nights of finding a dollar bill, and two consecutive nights of finding a nightly total of $2+; last night's total haul $2.23... the last dollars I scored at winn-dixie were back in april ($60)... i had more to say, but I've forgotten it.. and I have to get back to sanding..  there's more out there.... tonight I picked $1.85 in well-scattered change. the year-end report: 2023 grand total- $584.19, almost all picked off the street (and that amount is probably just a fraction of what's out there. I search only a small part of the island, 2 hours each night). $440.19 in coins, $144 in cash. holy cow. 2023 blew 2022 out of the water thanks to all the extra cash. 2022 yielded $480 in total, with only $44 of that in cash. I bested last year's total by a whopping $104.19. 2022's $44 in cash was all dollar bills, nothing larger. 2023's $144 in cash was 5 twenties, a ten, 2 fives and 24 ones. 2023's coin total nearly matches 2022's, $440.19 & $436, resp. boggles the mind. look at all the money ppl have lost or tossed! all the food & beverages & stuff that I scored probably adds another hundred dollars or two on top of all that money. and all the collectible coins! I picked two W quarters, an Indian Head cent, several dollar coins, numerous LWC and dozens of coins from all over the world. I'm astounded. it was another good year to be a street pirate, likely the best year yet.  |

Thanks. I only bring it up because I cannot recall the last time I found a quarter outside of a Coinstar.

yes! tonight I picked $1.07 in well-scattered change, and I also picked a 1 fl oz bottle of bath & body works' anti-bacterial hand gel from publix' parking lot. phew- extremely fragrant...  I'm likely passing it on to a female friend, if she can tolerate it.. |
