today- after my cel service was restored- I dumped a whole bunch of coins & some FRNs into the cauldron, recited the incantation & put the lid on it. my guess is I should see something by leap day.

On the subject of nasty stuff from a couple of weeks ago, I found these beauties, among some other coins, all on the same day:
Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money Post-Your-Stories-&-Pix-Of-Found-Money

Then the following night I found this beauty, my first coin from Switzerland (10 rappen)! At first I thought the date was 1988, but then I looked at it again and it was 1938 - my oldest foreign coin too! Interestingly, they've been making these in the same place with the same design out of mostly the same stuff since 1879; I wonder if it's common to find oldies like this in circulation.

More proof street coins can be nasty. On the left is a zincoln; on the right is a nickel.

A humorous find a few days later: I always jokingly refer to quarters as "laundry tokens", so I had to chuckle when I found this guy identifying itself as such! Clean Laundry is actually a national chain; there are three locations near me: one in Madison and two in Milwaukee.

DiscoLover - I've found 1920s and 1930s 10-rappen coins in change in Switzerland, and had an 1897 20-rappen in change there in 1981!

I had a strange street find of my own yesterday evening. I went out shopping and on my way home (I was cycling) spotted a small, silver color coin lying in the road. I stopped and picked it up. I thought it would be a 5 pence piece. But to my astonishment it was...

... a 1995-P American dime!
It will go into my little bag of spending money for my trip to Galveston next month, so it won't have to wait too long before it goes home!

thank you, NumisRob & DiscoLover82 for posting your goodies. I love seeing what everyone else finds.

as for me, cycle 17 is well underway and cycle 16 is a done deal; I came home from work today to find the cauldron lid had popped open, sooner than I was expecting. cycle 16's collected stuff turned into:

one BU 2003 1/10oz AGE, and one BU 2023 1oz Mexican silver Libertad!

i'll post better pix of each in the coming days.

yeah! it has grown into an impressive little stack. it takes a long time to build. a just reward for constantly volunteering to clean up everyone's castaway coins, currency & stuff every night.

that is my first and only libertad, btw, and my 5th 1/10oz AGE (attributed to street finds).
