@mrcruise I am surprised no one has informed you that a " Cud" must involve the rim. Therefore, most of what you have posted are called "die chips."  In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

Here in Australia any lumps of metal (or Die chips) in odd places are referred to as Cuds, and it's been that way for a looooong time. Rim Cuds here usually only involve the rim. life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Thanks Mrcruise...it seems that obverse Cuds are most prominent after about 2012....I went through $120 of 50 cents tonight, and kept 10 coins. Sadly I'm on the road, so no photos. I would like to say, though, I kept 10, and threw some back. All lip and chin Cuds, and only 1 hairline. |
