I have seen other graded MS no-detail coins with somewhat similar deformations rising to MS-60 which will be my bet. The view of the close-up of the arm here is 98% the same compared to what I see in hand. IMO since the nine opinions shown on this grading thread contain no mention of a 'details' hit, I will gamble and crack it. What do I have to lose since I paid $ 60 for this coin dealing with a fast taking auctioneer that failed to do his pre-show homework and started the bid way too low. Unless I hear something to the contrary this submission will be just like any other raw coin sent to PCGS. But in this instance I will not have to pay the 1% final value fee that a crossover commands... |

For what you paid vs. what you got, I'd say this was a huge big time rip! Got to be at least a $500 coin.

I am about to send in some crossovers myself...I would not crack 'em out and I would recommend the same to anyone...if it does not cross....it stays in the old small white and desirable ANACS holder

53 is generous, tons of bag marks, hits and abrasions all over.

looks like I was pretty close. to me the surfaces look rubbed of most of its luster and the PCGS image shows borderline corrosion. lots of abrasions in the surfaces.

A lot of times they'll go with the value you placed on it for the submission but other times they'll use the guide if it's way off. They generally don't try to break your back with the 1 percent unless you clearly are trying to avoid fees |

The value is more for the insurance level they send the coin back to you in the mail.
