The reverse of my coin is nearly blank which I thought might be a mint error but there are others like it: http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=11695 I pored thru the India Native States coins in my 1979 Krause and could not find anything closer to the coins of Travencore, so I must have a variation Chuckram and will classify it as "India-Native States-Travencore-Chuckram (16 cash) Regular Issues of Rama Varma IV (1860-1880)-Silver 6.0mm worth about $2.00, KM#8". Amazing! Until now I'd never even heard of Travencore... Report this Post to the Staff
malibu Valued Member Canada 304 Posts	Posted 08/06/2008 4:16 pm Here is a better example I think: http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=18138 which refers to "Rama Varman V" as the ruler from 1860-1880, whereas Krause (1979) reads "Rama Varma IV, AD 1860-1880", so I am going with the zeno.ru spelling and number on this, assuming it is correct. I also now see I have a "sprig of foliage" on the obv, meaning my Chuckram is definitely a Rama Varman variety. Report this Post to the Staff
