In the Women on Banknotes topic, American Abroad said "I really like the Armenian note." I thought that somebody might like to see the UV photo of the note. I check all of my banknotes under a UV light, some of the designs are quite pretty.

There are many beautiful designs, but it's difficult to photograph them without specialised equipment and you have to know what you are doing - which I don't. Here are some that have come out quite well using my phone. MoldovaP8 South Korea P54 And, Cayman Islands P38

Nice images! I've always enjoyed the surprise from what you might see in UV light on banknotes. Here's one of my favorites, from Surinam (images without and with UV)

I started to photograph and catalog all my notes under UV light. But I decided that it was something I'd wait to finish when I'm retired. I still check each one and annotate if it has UV Properties, but it is more work than a simple scan. I do remember one guy from a board who replaced the scanner bulb with a UV one. It seemed to work quite well. I might do that later on.

I just got a film scanner (shines light from the lid downwards) to scan watermarks. Now I need yet another scanner for UV? :)

, KeithM and thanks for sharing your photos! I recently picked up an inexpensive UV flashlight for checking out notes with UV sensitivities. I've not tried to photo them yet - yours look great! So does your Suriname note, Dave M.

@walk2dwater, it can be hit & miss holding a small uv flaslight in one hand and a camera phone in the other . There are some lovely security features & designs on some banknotes though, so even if they don't always photograph well it is interesting to see a note under uv light.

nice notes. The hidden images are sometimes pretty cool, but I like the even the more mundane ones. I've found that if you increase some white light in the mix - like a lamp on a few feet away, it can help with the overall image. Gotta play with it to get just the right exposure. I hope to do a lot more of these, but it takes some time for me to do so. Maybe a nice retirement project for me in a few years. Here's a few of the better ones I was able to get with increasing with white light with the black light.
