A scarce 5m serienscheine notgeld issue, without usual blue or black writings (verkehrsausgaben notgeld issue), from the town of Altrahlstedt (normal and then with 500,000m OVP.....sorry about inconsistent sizes of scans!)):

A normal set of 3 from Itzehoe.......followed by the OVP! It raised that note's face value from 100pf (1m) to 500m. The overprint was applied in 1922, as the early part of bad inflation required:

It took me quite a while to pick up this P-100 Iranian 20 Rials banknote (which isn't very uncommon). I found it hard to buy simply because few are being sold. I finally scored this dramatic overprint P-110b (of the above note) which took me even longer (to find a seller) & am very pleased to have it as part of my collection: Almost all overprints I have observed are of two kinds: Numerals to raise the value (due to hyperinflation) or Letters to designate another region where the note has been released (or some other New Currency designation). Rarely do we see a design overprint which obscures a former national figure.

Interesting thread... particularly like the Bradbury note earlier on. I know we had one of these Hawaii notes...I have another denomination though I am currently missing the $5 and $10 notes which are gaps and not seen too commonly on this side of the pond.
