Thanks chafemasterj, they are fairly easy to find. My friend has become a Freemason in the past couple years and he is a much more mellow person since. I know little about this secret society, as it should be. It must be a good thing though. If I were younger, I would consider looking into it.

Wanted to share this particular Masonic counter stamp because I felt the detail for it's time is phenominal. . .

Well just had to think of chafemasterj when I recently bought this giant pile of Shriner/Mason counterstamped coins. I went through and pulled out one of each type and so pretty much every coin in the photos has a unique counterstamp. That said, some have the exact same on the obverse but it is the reverse stamp that is different. Two pairs actually are identical but one was on a memorial and one was on a wheat so I called them different.

Sorry, not one coin per post, and no reverses but this is what I had time to do for pictures.

58 Masonic/Shriners counterstamps

Nice haul Tropicalbats.

It is truly amazing how many different Masonic counter stamps there are. It had to have been some rite of passage or something for a mason to do their own take on one. I have hundreds and if I stare at them long enough and flip through the pages I have found what I think are the same stamps on two coins a few years apart a couple of times.

Edit: Any chance you could get a close up photo of the one in the first close-up picture second row down second LMC from the right? That one looks unique. I don't think I've seen that one before. It's a 1989.

I just saw this thread & thought I would post the Masonic cent I have. When I looked where it was I couldn't find it. Instead I found this token. It probably came in a junk lot of some sort. It's about 35mm if I've done my conversion correctly.

Alright, here is the coin I was asked about. I actually looked up this symbolism when I was sorting these but don't remember what it was. The reverse of the stamp is a broken M.

And I actually did photograph the reverses, but I've been trying to watch how much time I am spending just taking pictures and posting as there is much else to do. Here are the missing pics, which brings the total up to like 12 images.
