not sure if this a good thing are not but I found an 1982 small date penny that wieghs 3.1g.

@GL33, without answering your question, I would like to point out that this coin has a very slight mis-aligned die on the obv. It isn't offset far enough to likely add to the value, but you do have a nice example of this with this cent.

It is a small date. It is not a Denver Mint though. I believe it needs to be 1982 d small date and then weigh it. Yours appears to me as a P Mint hopefully an expert can clarify this better for you.

I know not to try and clean coins myself but is there a place I can send it to be cleaned.

Good find, the small date copper is, IMO, the rarest of the 1982's.

Assuming that is indeed an oxidation spot, efforts to remove it cleanly will not likely succeed.
